INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

ENERGY SECURITY IN CROATIA AND BEYOND

Energy security must be at the top of the policy agenda for Croatia, its neighbours, and, indeed, its allies.

Attention is now focused on crucial decisions that need to be made, some before the end of this year.

The United States, Croatia's main strategic ally, has expressed strong support both for the development of the planned LNG floating terminal off Krk and for the Three Seas Initiative, championed by President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović and Polish President Andrzej Duda.

Lithuania already has a successful terminal in operation, and others can learn from its experience.

Both Poland and Hungary are, similarly, of central importance to the wider strategy of ensuring cheap, dependable energy supplies for Central and Eastern Europe.

COK, supported by the Washington DC-based Heritage Foundation, has assembled distinguished political figures, international experts and others engaged in the field to discuss the issues at a one-day conference in Zagreb.

We are especially honoured that the Croatian President has graciously agreed to open the proceedings, and that Ministers from Lithuania and Poland will deliver key-note speeches.
