“May all people recognise that You are Our Father, and that we without differentiation of colour, language and appearance, are Your children, and brothers. And if we have hitherto strayed down paths which lead to destruction, let us return to the paths of Your commandments, on the path of the Gospel of Christ, which for the blind can seem hard and bitter, but which alone is able to bring happiness to all people and nations! Amen.”
Sermon by Cardinal Stepinac at the conclusion of the penitential procession in Zagreb on the Feast of Christ the King, 31 October 1943.
